A 35-year-old man sustained life altering injuries when the aluminum painting pole he was using to paint the side of his employer’s business came into contact with a low hanging electrical line negligently installed by the city. 12,000 volts of electricity surged through his body causing him to lose his left arm and to incur other permanent injuries. The city, the manufacturer of the painting pole, and the owner of the building were all named in a lawsuit after they all denied responsibility for the injuries. After 18 months of intense investigation and litigation, a settlement was reached prior to trial in the amount of 7.2 million dollars, with most of the money being structured to allow our client to live the rest of his life without having to worry about financial issues as he continues to deal with the residual effects of the injuries he’s sustained.
