A tragic Orange County motorcycle accident over the weekend killed one man. According to the authorities, the man was a 30 year-old Costa Mesa man.
The man who died in the accident has been identified as Gregory McNally. McNally died after being taken to Western Medical Center in Santa Ana. According to the Orange County coroner’s office, he died at 10:20 p.m. Saturday night.
The accident took place as the motorcycle McNally was riding collided with a van in Costa Mesa.
The incident took place 3151 Harbor Blvd. at approximately 9:33 p.m. All the details of the accident have not yet been released by the authorities.
According to the police, Another Costa Mesa man was injured in the accident. The man was in the van at the time of the accident and his injuries are said to be minor.
The driver of the van was a 17 year-old girl. She was accompanied by an adult, according to Costa Mesa Lt. Greg Scott.
The police did not write any citations or make any arrests at the scene of the accident, according to Lt. Scott.
The Costa Mesa police as well as the fire department responded to the scene of the accident. Upon their arrival, both of the parties injured in the accident were rushed to the local hospital.
At this time, the accident is still under investigation by the authorities. Alcohol and drugs are not suspected to play a role in the cause of the Costa Mesa car accident.
