According to an article out of Mission Viejo, a recent lunchtime accident near a Mission Viejo school held up traffic and sent one young driver to the hospital with injuries. The four-car accident took place near Trabuco Hills High School on Thursday, April 11, around 12:30 p.m.
According to Captain Jon Muir, of the Orange County Fire Authority, the female student who was injured was driving a Dodge Charger on Mustang Run when her vehicle was hit by another Dodge sports car, driven by an unidentified driver. After clipping the female student’s Charger, the driver of the other Dodge collided with two parked cars belonging to other Trabuco Hills High students. The female student was transferred to an area hospital with a reported nosebleed after the accident, but the extent of her injuries is unknown.
Some witnesses say that the accident occurred when the driver of the Dodge attempted to pass the female student while she was making a U-turn, but officials are still investigating the accident. Neither the injured student’s name nor the other driver’s name have been released, and there have been no updates on the injured student’s condition. The two parked cars that were hit during this accident were thankfully unoccupied at the time of the crash, but reports indicate that the property damage to both vehicles was extensive.
Unfortunately, multiple-car accidents like this one are not uncommon in Orange County. The Mission Viejo car accident attorneys with Russell & Lazarus are always concerned to hear about accidents near our local schools, and we hope the female student injured in this accident is able to experience a fast and full recovery.
