On Sunday, June 2, 2013, a pedestrian was injured and killed in a tragic Huntington Beach auto accident. The accident took place just after midnight on Sunday morning on the stretch of road west of Worchester Lane on Yorktown Avenue. The details of the accident are still under investigation, and the victim’s name has not yet been released at the time of this report because officials were still working to notify the victim’s next of kin.
According to officials, the 56-year-old female pedestrian was crossing Yorktown Avenue when she was struck by a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck. She suffered severe, life-threatening injuries in the accident, and it was reported that she later died at a local hospital. The driver of the pickup truck reportedly did speak to officials at the scene of the accident. Although he was questioned at the scene, he was not arrested or cited by the police for his involvement in the accident. Although his name has not been released, the driver of the pickup was reported to be a 35-year-old male.
