Orange County Cyclist Killed in Car Accident on State Route 133
According to a recent report from CBS Los Angeles, two cyclists were involved in a tragic bike-car accident on State Route 133 that left one dead and one severely injured. The accident took place on Friday, June 28, 2013, near Laguna Canyon Road in the area north of State Route 73.
According to reports of the accident, the cyclist and a companion were traveling in the shoulder on State Route 133 on Friday. The cyclists were approached and struck from the back by a motor vehicle, resulting in the death of one cyclist and serious injuries for his riding partner.
The victim who lost his life in this accident has been identified as former Westminster city manager and police chief James Waller. The 53-year-old retired police chief has been described by friends as a “passionate cyclist” who has ridden extensively for pleasure and in charity events for fallen police officers. The name of Waller’s riding companion has not yet been released, and no update is yet available on his or her condition following the wreck.
