A car-pedestrian accident on Sunday, January 20, 2013 left one unidentified pedestrian critically injured. The accident occurred around 5:45 p.m. at Ball Road and Dale Street in Anaheim. The name of the injured pedestrian has not been released. After the accident, the pedestrian was transferred from the scene to an area hospital for treatment of his injuries, which were reported to be critical.
No further information has been released about the condition of the pedestrian hit in this accident. According to Sgt. Steve Pena of the Anaheim Police Department, the driver in this accident reportedly attempted to avoid hitting the pedestrian, but was unable to stop the collision. Sgt. Pena stated that the pedestrian entered the roadway in front of an oncoming Altima.
The driver of the Altima was traveling in the westbound No. 1 lane of Ball Road at the time of the collision. She stayed at the scene after the pedestrian was hit. No arrests were made at the time, and police say the accident remains under investigation. Unfortunately, car-pedestrian accidents are not uncommon in California.
