After clipping several cars along Alicia Parkway and then wrecking his motorcycle, a California man is recovering from a traumatic brain injury at a local hospital.
According to local news reports, a man driving a Harley-Davidson motorcycle clipped two different cars while driving on Alicia Parkway in Orange County on Sunday afternoon, November 11, 2012. After being involved in the two minor Mission Viejo motorcycle accidents, the rider allegedly turned down a side street near the housing tract in Coronel near Alicia Park, where he crashed his bike the third and final time, this time suffering a serious head injury.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Department responded to the scene of the accident. First responders stabilized the man at the scene before rushing him to Mission Hospital, where he was treated for a traumatic brain injury. While authorities say he suffered serious, life-threatening injuries, the hospital reports that the man’s health is improving and that he is expected to recover.
Because the motorcycle rider fled the scene of the first two accidents, and because it is not yet clear whether the bike accident was caused by factors such as speed, reckless driving, or driving under the influence, sheriff’s deputies are investigating the accident and could charge the biker with a hit-and-run.
As part of the motorcycle accident investigation, officials sent in a specialized accident reconstruction team to aid the investigation.
The Mission Viejo motorcycle accident attorneys at Russell & Lazarus understand the seriousness of a traumatic brain injury and wish this injury victim a full and complete recovery.
