According to an article and an accompanying video from the Orange County Register, two riders recently lost their lives in fatal motorcycle crashes in Huntington Beach over the short span of the weekend of March 23 and 24.
In the first accident, 66-year-old Buddy Clark was on a motorcycle traveling south on Bolsa Chica Street when he was involved in a wreck with an eastbound BMW driven by an unidentified 67-year-old woman. The accident occurred just after 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 23. Clark was transferred to Orange’s UCI Medical Center and reportedly passed away in the early afternoon from the injuries he sustained.
The second accident occurred on Sunday, March 24. A 42-year-old man and a 55-year-old female passenger were thrown from a motorcycle traveling near Springdale Street and McFadden Avenue. The man was thrown from bike, made impact with a tree, and was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The woman was thrown into a parking lot, and she was treated for her injuries at a local hospital. No other vehicles appeared to be involved in the accident.
Both accidents are still under investigation, and officials encourage anyone with any information about these two accidents to contact the Huntington Beach Police Department.
