Thursday, May 23, was a terrifying day for some motorcyclists on Highway 91 in Corona. According to a recent news article from The Press-Enterprise, two separate motorcycle accidents took place near Main Street in the carpool lane of westbound Highway 91 Thursday morning.
In the first accident, a motorcycle operated by an Anaheim police officer was involved in a collision with another motorcyclist around 7:30 a.m. According to reports, the motorcycle officer was knocked from the bike when the other rider hit him. Both riders were taken to the hospital by ambulance for medical treatment, and both bikes had to be towed from the scene of the accident. It is believed that neither rider suffered severe or life-threatening injuries in this accident.
In the second accident, which occurred near the same spot and only about a half hour after the first accident, a motorcyclist was involved in a wreck and was also transported to the hospital from the scene. Witnesses say that the rider crashed after being cut off by a truck. While no updates are available regarding the rider’s condition, it was said that the rider was put in a neck brace following the accident and was loaded into the ambulance on a stretcher.
Some lanes of Highway 91 were closed for about an hour on Thursday morning following the two accidents. No names have been released regarding these accidents, and police continue to investigate.
The Anaheim motorcycle accident attorneys with Russell & Lazarus are always saddened to hear about these kinds of accidents, and we hope that all of the riders injured in these accidents are able to recover quickly from their injuries.
