According to a recent article in the Mission Viejo Patch, two drivers died in a tragic accident in Tustin on Thursday, April 11. The accident took place on Jamboree Road near Edinger Avenue. The accident occurred just before 11:00 p.m. on Thursday, and the coroner gave the time of death for both drivers as 10:44 p.m. the following day. No other occupants were reported in either vehicle.
The drivers who died in this fatal Tustin wreck were 29-year-old Kenneth Olson Jr., of Corona, and 25-year-old Kaelyn Fergeson, of Rancho Santa Margarita. According to Sgt. Todd Bullock, of the Tustin police, both Fergeson and Olson were driving Toyota Scions, which collided head-to-head on Jamboree Road.
Fergeson was reportedly traveling southbound in the northbound lane at the time of the accident after hitting a curb and crossing from the southbound lanes into the northbound lanes. At least one witness reported the danger to 9-1-1, and police were already en route before the two Scions made contact. Unfortunately, the police were unable to reach the scene before the accident took place. Sgt. Bullock stated that, “We had officers on the way there before the collision occurred, but we couldn’t get there in time.”
A section of Jamboree Road was closed after the wreck, and some lanes remained closed into the next morning. It was unknown if drunk or drugged driving played a part in the accident, and the incident remains under investigation.
The Orange County accident attorneys with Russell & Lazarus offer our deepest sympathy to the families of both drivers during this difficult time.
